Curriculum and Credit Requirements for Undergraduates

Hemorheology plays a pivotal role in the normal and pathological behavior
of vascular endothelial cells. It also affects the adhesion of leukocytes on post-capillary vessels during an organism's immune response to infection. For more information, visit the research group of Assistant Professor Panos Dimitrakopoulos.

   

The curriculum is composed of:

  1. CORE (general education) requirements of the University of Maryland, College Park

  2. Foundation subjects
    Mathematics (four semesters), physics (three semesters), chemistry (one freshman chemistry course, two organic chemistry courses, two physical chemistry courses (consisting of lecture and laboratory), and engineering sciences required of all engineering students.
  3. 37 credits of ENCH courses
    These include: ENCH215, ENCH250, ENCH300, ENCH333, ENCH400, ENCH422, ENCH424, ENCH426, ENCH437, ENCH440, ENCH442, ENCH444, and ENCH446

  4. 12 credits of ENCH technical electives
    Students must consult with an advisor on selection of appropriate courses for their particular course of study.

Minimum Degree Credits and GPA
128 credits and fulfillment of all Departmental, College, and University requirements with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0.

Advising
All students choosing Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering as their primary field must see an undergraduate advisor each semester. Appointments for advising can be made at 2113 Chemical Engineering Building, (301) 405-1935.
