Signal-Directed Patterned Assembly of Enzymes onto Microfabricated Devices
Angela Lewandowski

In situ Biomolecule Assembly in Completely Packaged Microfluidic Devices

Objective
Assemble biologically active enzyme onto device for subsequent evaluation/manipulation of enzyme kinetics.

Methods
(1) assemble biopolymer chitosan (2) "activate" the enzyme for conjugation to chitosan (3) conduct reactions with assembled enzyme.

Results
Increasing patterned device area increases enzyme reaction rate.
