Determining The Amount of Nitrite Produced From RAW 264.7 Cells In The Presence of Alginate Beads
Joyce Breger

Objective
To determine the effect of "dirty" alginate on Nitrite production of RAW264.7 cells.

Methods
Co-cultured RAW 264.7 cells in the presence of low viscosity alginate beads and ϒ-mIF. Measure the amount of Nitrite produced with a Nitrite Assay.

Results
Increasing the amount of alginate beads co-cultured with RAW264.7 cells causes an increase in the amount of nitrite produced.

Future Work
Spike "clean" alginate with known amounts of LPS (endotoxin) and determine the effect on Nitrite production of RAW 264.7 cells.
